Few gaps in education planning in many affordable private schools:

If we take low income or growing setups, which cater to majority of our population, schools include some value education words & phrases in their MVO but in reality it's always about taking a syllabus and completing it within a session.  Below are few gaps in education planning in many affordable private schools: # No learning objectives are set from classroom lessons in this regard.  # Educators are not trained to handle conflicts and turn them into learning opportunities and inflicting values. I believe educators should stop teaching & address to behavioral issues rather than continuing with lessons after silencing children.  # gap is in not utilising the full school time. Like designing morning assemblies, using competitions and sports properly. They're not only about giving I, II & III prizes.  # not including parents into the process of value generation.  # here, end product is Xth board result. In between everything is routine and non essential.  # Schools &am

Teacher Appraisal  is a thorough yet supportive and developmental process designed to ensure that all  teachers  have the skill-competencies, and support they need to carry out their role effectively.  The regular appraisal helps to ensure that  teachers  are able to continue to improve their professional practice and to develop as  teachers . Thereby developing student performance and behaviour. Appraisal is performance management of teachers. • First of all, I think since each school is a different eco system, the need of appraisal is definitely going to vary. So we should not cut paste any model.  Schools must have an annual appraisal process for teachers. • Each school must scientifically identify as to WHY the

5 points- Why you need counselling support at school (Part 1.10):

-  Many of us feel that counselling is for people who are weak and incompetent. In reality, many people miss this expert help and guidance because of these misconceptions. There are few myths related to counselling, like it is only for major issues or crazy people, admitting that you need help and going for counselling means you're weak, counselling doesn't help or will make the situation worse, the counsellor doesn't know me - so they can't help me etc. (https://calgarycounselling.com). But really if you see at the counselling, these are the professionals who are trained to help humans in their day to day life needs. There are specialized people who are called as ‘school counsellors, who work with school stakeholders for students and school success. Out of all needs, mental health needs are very prime. Mental health affects not only academics but also other areas of life. The problems of children are different in each type of school. One school in my study is day sch

Current school counselling practices and perceptions (Part 1.9):

 - Counsellor also has a very core role to play in overall school development. They are not just a part-time worker, they are also part of school stakeholders. The counsellor has many responsibilities at school— -           They c onduct individual and group counselling sessions to advise and assist students with academic and life skills development. -           They conduct student SWOT analysis. Is counselling the engineering of the minds of children or just a scaffolding (support system)? (Part 1.8):

 - According to psychologists, a child is a developing being, parents have the right and responsibility to take care of them.   As a child (minor), by law, children do not have autonomy or the right to make decisions on their own for themselves in any known jurisdiction of the world. Instead, their adult caregivers, including their parents, teachers and others, are vested with that authority, depending on the circumstances  (IGNOU, N.D) . This again opens up a big question, is counselling the engineering of the minds of children or just a scaffolding? This also gives us space to think of the role of a parent and caregiver in upbringing and character building of children. In today's society, we are seeing an unprecedented need for counselling. The need for counselling in current times is also due to emerging disorders in children, one such disorder is Autism. In psychiatry Autism is defined as, an abnormal absorption with the self; marked by communication disorders and short atten
