How safe our kids are around technology?

Many parents intuitively understand that ubiquitous glowing screens are having a negative effect on kids. We see the aggressive temper tantrums when the devices are taken away and the wandering attention spans when children are not perpetually stimulated by their hyper-arousing devices. Worse, we see children who become bored, apathetic, uninteresting and uninterested when not plugged in. When do the kids get attracted towards technology? kids are more prone to addictive escape if they feel alone, alienated, purposeless and bored. Thus the solution is often to help kids to connect to meaningful real-life experiences and flesh-and-blood relationships. The engaged child tethered to creative activities and connected to his or her family is less likely to escape into the digital fantasy world. Yet even if a child has the best and most loving support, he or she could fall into the Matrix once they engage with hypnotic screens and experience their addicting effect. After all, about one in 1

A Powerful Conversation on Schools, Poverty, and Race:

Bill Gates discussion with Nate Bowling, the Washington State's Teacher of the Year. Highlights : “It is a matter of life and death,”. “If my students are not successful in school, they end up in the prison-industrial complex.” “All kids can learn if they have the support,”.  “One of the mistakes we make is that we think teaching is all about aptitude. You need a base level of aptitude to teach, but just because you have a Ph.D. in something doesn’t mean you’re going to be good at delivering content. Teaching is part content, part parlor tricks, and it can be taught.” Click here to read full article : If you are unable to open link. Alternative schools of thought -

"The system of modern schooling,” said Rabindranath Tagore, "forcibly snatches away children from a world full of the mystery of God’s own handiwork, full of the suggestiveness of personality. It is a mere method of discipline that refuses to take into account the individual. It is a manufactory specially designed for grinding out uniform results.” This idea of Tagore was seen in his effort to build Santiniketan. The purpose of alternative approach to education is not to compete or disapprove the main stream education. Instead the work of alternative education is to see how best the child could be holistically developed. How the child could be prepared for society as an economic contributor as well as 'Happy Individual'.
