It is a mere method of discipline that refuses to take into account the individual. It is a manufactory specially designed for grinding out uniform results.” This idea of Tagore was seen in his effort to build Santiniketan.
The purpose of alternative approach to education is not to compete or disapprove the main stream education. Instead the work of alternative education is to see how best the child could be holistically developed. How the child could be prepared for society as an economic contributor as well as 'Happy Individual'.
