When there are changes in the social structure, the needs in the society also change. ‘’Social structure , in sociology, the distinctive, stable arrangement of institutions whereby human beings in a society interact and live together.  Social structure  is often treated together with the concept of  social  change, which deals with the forces that change the  social structure  and the organization of society’’ (Britannica). Challenges in school counselling practices as observed in a review (Part 1.6):

 -  My interest in this study is also through my personal experiences. When I was undertaking my one year course in counselling I studied student counselling and child counselling, there I got interested in child counselling. And I believe that there is a lot of scope for child counselling arena in rural and semi-urban schools also. In this study, I studied a variety of school types, which gave me exposure to various student wellbeing facilities and programs at school. Student mental health is an emerging issue globally. The CTF ( Canadian Teachers’ Federation) has conducted a national teacher survey on the Teacher Voice in 2011. Various questions were asked to teachers. This is a critical situation for school management, to retain and sustain the school:

- As reported in Times of India, there are over 1000 schools for sale in India.  During covid-19 situation many sectors have been impacted, out of these sectors school education has got a lot of adverse impact. Majority of private schools in India cater to the middle class and lower middle class families, which are very affordable schools. The day to day functioning and the development of the school is dependent on the fee collection. There is a lot of impact in the fee collection, the schools are struggling to retain the teachers and the schools which are on the rented buildings and the land are struggling to pay their rent dues. There are very few schools which are run by the trust where the trust is contributing from other sources for school functioning. These schools which have other sources of income are able to sustain to an extent, but the schools which are fully dependent on fee collection are impacted a lot. Let us not lose hope and take a hurried decision. Let's have pati

OUR ROLE AS PARENTS:

- We know that today's children are tomorrow's citizens. How do we develop the young citizens. You can become the productive contributors for the family as well as the society. The parenting is a multi dimensional approach. It involves emotional, physical, moral, spritual, and cognitive aspects of the child. Good parenting involves a style that considers children's age and stage of development. Good parenting involves a great deal of consistency and routine, which gives children a sense of control. A good parent , often , does their best to, teach their child how to live life to the fullest. Bad parenting is a series of actions that can seriously harm the child's demeanour and psychology. Bad parenting isn't restricted to a single act; it is a collection of these acts that are usually what contributes to a harmful effect on the child. Thus every intention, and action of a parent impacts children. Below we have brought a collection of day to day child's and

Challenges faced by school counsellors as per study undertaken in India (Part 1.12)--:

 - Counselling skills are seen as an important area in educational institutions. The education boards like CBSE mandates schools to appoint counsellor. The schools which have appointed counsellors in the school environment, the counsellor face few challenges, as school involves multiple stakeholders- Teachers, Children, Parents, Management, Civil society (Civil society- When school is involved with collaborative programs with external institutions). There are some kinds of stigma attached to counsellor and counselling practices. When counsellor calls children to meet, they become very conscious to go to the counsellor even to have general interaction. Some responded that if a child goes to a dedicated counsellor, the child might think he has negativity in him. A counsellor said that rapport building takes much time. Children are afraid because they have misinformation about counselling. Class 1st to 5th children know counsellor as a Lifeskills teacher and not as a counsellor. It helps

Parents' challenges in online classes and their interest towards homeschooling:

- Snippets: -  Financial constraints or a worry that too much screen time will have a negative impact are the core factors because of which parents are resisting online classes.   -  It is not feasible for working parents to supervise their children during online classes. - Few parents are willing to take a year gap, and go to regular schooling the next year. - There are many parents who are opting for homeschooling, but they are not getting the support which is required to understand and implement homeschooling. What is the perception and challenges of parents regarding online classes? As quoted in The Hindu newspaper, one parent poured his worry, he said,  “There was insane pressure on parents to ensure that homework was completed and submitted on the portal daily. There were a minimum of four periods every day, with only a 30-minute break for lunch. We felt it was a horrible thing to make a child, who is not even four, to sit in front of a computer to attend classes every day,” Anot
