Advice from a mother to a daughter: My daughter starts middle school tomorrow. We've decorated her locker, bought new uniforms, even surprised her with a new backpack.   But tonight just before bed, we did another pre-middle school task that is far more important than the others.  I gave her a tube of toothpaste and asked her to squirt it out onto a plate.   Image source: healthline When she finished, I calmly asked her to put all the toothpaste back in the tube.  She began exclaiming things like "But I can't!" and "It won't be like it was before!"  I quietly waited for her to finish and then said the following: "You will remember this plate of toothpaste for the rest of your life.  Your words have the power of life or death.  As you go into middle school, you are about to see just how much weight your words carry.  You are going to have the opportunity to use your words to hurt, demean, slander and wound others.  Yo

It has also significantly turned down the parental perceptions towards the aims of education for their children as parents are afraid of the quality of learning in this period. We can classify parents into three groups with regard to the distinct perceptions concerning the education of their children; a.      The first groups of parents are confined to think about homeschooling and scared of sending their child back to school even after school re-opens, b.      Secondly, there might be parents who are waiting for formal schools to re-open and, c.       The third groups of parents who are underprivileged and conditioned socially and economically by the systems. They seem to not being able to realize education. Rather they are fighting against the live battle of hunger and survival

HOMESCHOOLING AND SCHOOLS- A ANALYSIS

Introduction Homeschooling is not an unexpected phenomenon or new entry to the education and learning system. In colonial days families, including wealthy ones, educated their children at home, combining the efforts of parents, tutors, and older children.  Thus the homeschooling is not the new educational platform, it is newly revolutionalized and realized platform of education influenced by the market-based education system in the neo-liberalization era. Earlier parents couldn’t realize about the advantages of homeschooling and not even by most of the youngsters. Image source: www.clipart.email If we go in dept of the revolution of homeschooling worldwide today, the reasons observed are, influences of the philosophy of liberalization, growth of market-based education, awareness of individual differences which education board has not succeeded to implement fully,   and also the massive failure of placements to the huge number of qualified and educated scholars. These

Summary of 10 articles of Home Schooling-

Introduction: In previous articles it is clearly discussed that homeschooling is about educational settings outside the formal school settings with unprescribed formalities. However, any homeschooling aspirants should have their own formalities with the optional curriculum as discussed in previous articles. The implementation of homeschooling with different distinct philosophical perspectives merely based on how the homeschoolers can afford to invest in the creation of own environment. Because the affordable and adjustable environment matters a lot in terms of propagating education.  It is also to be in mind that there is a contradiction when we talk about homeschooling in their own environment settings as there lies a tremendous challenge in the society, the challenges of technical, and socio-economic conditions. Charlotte Mason Method of Home Schooling_Few approaches:

Introduction The education itself cannot be defined to be exclusive but it is, in fact, the most inclusive and dynamic. It is believed that education can be acquired through multi-dimensions and multi-sources. However, such multi-dimensions of the educational process has its own perfections at different levels. In addition, as education is about a large collection of information, a large source of information to be connected and facilitated to the children.  There are many philosophers, psychologists and educators who have discussed how to educate children.  Among them is Charlotte Maria Shaw Mason who was an English educator in England at the turn of the twentieth century.  She implemented a precise idea of education for the children. Her thoughts on education have significant connections to the reality of knowing the most existence based. She believed on independent and freedoms of education assuming that children have their own perfections. Charlotte Mason was a

Online classes, Parents and school and technology- Few challenges, few hopes.

It is coming as a good news that many schools in the country are starting online classes. But the million dollar question is, will this really able to reach 100% parents. Whom will these online classes reach? How will the poor labourers pay for smartphones, internet who generally don't need a smartphone for their profession. In the current situation when poor have no money to eat, how they can afford online resource. When they have more than 3 children, how will they cater to all the children at a time. How will they install a particular mobile app which requires a smart phone when majority of them do not know what's a multimedia or an android enabled phone? Forget about what 'apple' is. They generally use basic phones and they mostly know only how to dial and recieve a call. One may fact check this with the immediate plumber, bricklayer or housemaid who work for you regularly, or you know anyone around you. Are we expecting that we are completely a digital

Measures to Home school in rural context- Extensive Measures:

The homeschooling itself clearly clarifies that it is the educational and learning experience outside the school setting. The most significant factor that we have to keep in mind is about its connections to the rural context in terms of implementation. As we have come across enormous challenges of rural context in the previous article, it is in fact also important that we work on alternatives and simplifications in implementation.  In many rural areas, there is deprivation of some basic facilities, as discussed in an earlier article. The crisis of competencies and the socio-economic conditions are hindering for successful implementation of homeschooling. However, despite the fact of challenges in a rural context, there must be reasonable and imaginable approaches in order to implement homeschooling even in the rural context.  Thus, this short write up would try to bring the most possible extensive measures based on the availability of rural resources.
