Introduction
Homeschooling is not an unexpected
phenomenon or new entry to the education and learning system. In colonial days
families, including wealthy ones, educated their children at home, combining
the efforts of parents, tutors, and older children. Thus the homeschooling is not the new educational platform, it is newly revolutionalized and
realized platform of education influenced by the market-based education system
in the neo-liberalization era. Earlier parents couldn’t realize about the
advantages of homeschooling and not even by most of the youngsters.

If we go in dept of the revolution of homeschooling worldwide today, the reasons observed are, influences of the philosophy of liberalization, growth of market-based education, awareness of individual differences which education board has not succeeded to implement fully, and also the massive failure of placements to the huge number of qualified and educated scholars. These facts brought not only new educational settings but also the radical changes in the field of formal education systems.
As an example, 1.5 million children
are being homeschooled particularly in the US which is as according to the
researcher more numbers than the children enrolled in the public education system in New York City (Paul. T. Hill, 2000). However, though this fact is 20
years old, the matter of concern is how much big number of people of 21st
century would go for homeschooling if 1.5 million numbers are already there twenty
years back in the US.
This short write up would try to
bring a few reasons for the revolution of homeschooling and its impact on the conventional 'Public education system' today. The homeschooling is one of the options realized by most of the
people who actually left or retired from different relevant services. These people used to teach their grandsons, granddaughters and other relatives initially
and later on familiarizing themselves to others. However, some ex-servicemen
who are very specific in terms of subject matter such as Math and Science are
highly motivated and convinced by most of the parents.
No matter
whatever subject matter they teach about, but the matter of fact is it indirectly
affects the education, for better as well as otherwise also. By giving this
much of statement, no one will understand its effects on the public
education. What I mean by effects is that private teaching does not cover
up whole chapters as intended by the Board of education. At the other side, when it comes to regular
schooling, it is often observed that more focus is on exam-based learning and importance
is given for some competitive exams. Teaching with such intentions are always
termed as violation of the aims of education. And it's very clear image of
affecting the conventional public education system because public education is
more systematic in terms of curriculum transactions that are connected to the
prescribed curriculum of a country.
We cannot
leave the homeschooling parents to do whatever they like. Because even the
homeschooled children have to go to the same universities for technical and higher
education. And also the homeschooled children have to compete in the same
entrepreneurial domains and job markets. Parents who decide to school their
children at home should commit time and energy to give complete support to
their children. Parents are doing an activity that was once left to specialized
professionals.
The vast majority of
home-school parents hope their children will attend college and so must also
learn how to assess their children’s progress against higher education
admission standards.
In this article, we are not deciding on which system of education is better. What we mean here is, we need to give more care and concern about our child's education whether it is the home school or regular school. Both have their pros and cons.
