Brain development matters for early childhood development:

‘Why is it that some children thrive while others do not? Is it a matter of genetics, IQ, socioeconomic background or education?’
These questions were raised in a video documentary called Brain Matters amplifying the importance of brain development in support of early childhood development.

Despite the recognized importance of the early years, almost half of the children in the world today are falling behind even before they get to primary school. It does not have to be this way.

“There is no more urgent human priority than this!”, Robert Waldinger – Director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development.

In addition, the documentary in the above link also argues that “learning begins way before children go to school” and calls for brain development in the early years that help shape chances for the young children’s future success.
