A physical fight between 15 year old student and a teacher leads to an investigation in Columbia:

Teaching and learning is a process whereby knowledge is transferred and constructed. When knowledge is regarded with high respect, the process of attaining knowledge is also regarded with high respect. And the more experienced person who is involved in the process of knowledge construction (Teacher) is also cherished high.

We have published a half minute video in the link at the end of this article which is released by www.wltx.com whereby a 15 year old student and a teacher fight physically in a classroom, where some try to create a truce between them.

This makes us to think what kind of respect is being created between teacher and a student in the current times, and what kind of relationship the school stakeholders have between themselves.

If you look at the kind of relationship between school stakeholders, in some cases:

Teacher considers teaching to be a job,
School considers teacher to be an employee,
The teacher considers the student to be a client,
Student considers the teacher to be a service provider,
School considers parents to be a customer,
Parents consider school to be a job preparation industry,
Countries view schools to be a job ready labor supplier.

In this current times it is crucial for us to understand, how do we define the aims, objectives, and outcomes of education and based on that how we define the purpose of schooling. It cannot be denied that schools have got the responsibility to focus on academics (particularly STEM- Science, technology, engineering, and maths subjects).

And also we cannot deny the fact that it is the school’s responsibility to cater to Social-Emotional Learning at school which is an important factor for a child’s happy and fruitful life. Social-Emotional learning could be self-awareness, understanding self with the relationship with other, effective group communication skills, forgiving and asking for forgiveness, meta-cognition skills, etc.
