A National Webinar - Reflection on National Education Policy- 2020 - “Standardization of Teacher Education Institutions” was conducted by NCTE:

Teacher education in our country is all set for an overhaul that sets teachers on a path to become lifelong learners and meet the expectations of 21st century learners.

The National Council for Teacher Education has recognized the importance of standardization of the processes and management systems to strengthen the teacher training institutions of the country as an integral component of the NEP 2020.

A National Webinar - Reflection on National Education Policy- 2020 - “Standardization of Teacher Education Institutions” was conducted by NCTE and Ms Arti Khosla (Founder & CEO- COAE) was invited to address this group of policy makers, researchers and practitioners from the field of teacher education.

A comprehensive road map to meet the global standard, comply with the national & regional requirements with an underlying measure of acceptability and credibility was shared by Ms Arti.

The NCTE has to be appreciated for this step to encourage ownership by every stakeholder, improve learning outcomes, ensure sustainable monitoring and cyclic improvements. A robust evaluation/ certification process can help in preventing increase in the number of substandard teacher education institutions.

The educationists should extend full support to the government to implement the reforms in education through NEP.

Involve parents, carers and families for school success:

Work with parents/carers and families can add strength and depth, and has been shown to have a significant impact in making approaches and specific interventions more effective, both by helping family life reinforce the messages of the school and through helping parents and carers develop their own parenting skills and attitudes. The school has an important part to play in supporting the kind of parenting and family life that boosts well-being. This can be done informally, through conversation with individual parents and carers, or more formally through presentations at parents’ evenings, printed information, parenting education courses, and designated family link workers. Parents and carers who may not have had a positive experience of parenting themselves may need particular help to respond to their children’s behaviour in emotionally literate ways, to spend quality time with their children, to focus on their children’s strengths, to listen, empathise and understand the causes
