How to develop interest towards reading in children:

Children's interest in reading:
Some thoughts:
Written by Najam-ul-Huda II

My observation is that there is very little interest in reading in Muslim families. Even well-educated people seem to be deprived of this blessing. People have no shortage of time in lockdown. With a little attention, we can instil in children a tendency to read. In the age of TV and mobile phones, this is not an easy task, but it is a work in progress. His passion for reading will also brighten his personality and, God willing, will be a guarantee of his success.

Here are some suggestions:

ا۔ Get in the habit of reading it yourself. (This is the hardest condition :)

2. Make children aware of the importance of books and reading through your behaviour and conversations.

3. Give children books of stories and poems as gifts. Be sure to write something in your writing for these myths and don't forget to put a date.

4. Spend some time reading with the children each day. Read for yourself and make your reading interesting in terms of children's age and their psychology.

5. Don't rush to read. Take care of the mental level of the children and do not make it difficult for them to read and exhort or rush to 'infuse' information in the children. This will make children tired very quickly and they will start running away from reading books.

6. Try to keep the children's attention tied while reading. For this, it is important to involve them in the reading process: for example, keep asking the children questions about what is being read, do not keep your eyes constantly on the book, but look at them from time to time. Smile, sometimes pausing in the middle to tell a joke, sometimes pausing in the middle to order favourite chocolate or a juice for them, sometimes listening to them, linking the story to Quan's life and interests.

7. In the meantime, turn off your mobile phone or switch it to 'Silent Mode'.

6. Children's age and interests must be taken into consideration when choosing books. Take care of the storybooks that children love the most.

8. Make the most of diversity in choosing materials for children. Children love ghost stories, magic and fairy tales. Try to develop children's imagination through them (Make sure that these stories are socially acceptable).

9. Sometimes ask the children to tell their own story. It is better to tell this story orally. They will, in the beginning, need your help to create the story. Help them but give credit to their effort and hard work in front of everyone. To encourage children, buy them a new book, make and feed them their favourite dish, extend the time allotted for their favourite game, and so on.

10 Times are changing very fast. If we take the responsibility of introducing our children to the changing technology, we can avoid many troubles. There are many 'apps' and sites related to reading and books. Introduce children to them under your supervision. Kindle (Book purchase and reading app) has changed the old concept of study. It is also important to introduce children. Be sure to keep some books for them on your wallet. Encourage reading comics and feeding very young children. Comics play an important role in stimulating children's creativity.

The height of concentration strategies:

 - Image product: The isolator helmet  This helmet was an early attempt to solve a psychological problem (distraction) with a hardware solution.  The isolator helmet was a device invented by Hugo Gernsback in 1925 to help people concentrate and eliminate distractions. The helmet was made of wood and felt, and had three pieces of glass that allowed the wearer to see only a narrow slit in front of them.  The helmet also blocked out all sounds, and had a tube that supplied oxygen to the wearer. The idea was that by isolating the senses, the wearer could focus better on reading or writing.  However, the helmet also had some drawbacks, such as making the wearer drowsy after 15 minutes, and being very bulky and uncomfortable. Gernsback claimed that the helmet was 90-95% efficient in blocking out noise, but he only made 11 helmets and they disappeared by 1926. The isolator helmet was featured in Gernsback’s magazine Science and Invention, and later inspired other simil...

Online Schools and eclectic curriculum:

 - Online schools, while offering flexibility and accessibility, come with several disadvantages, particularly when they employ a mixed eclectic curriculum. An "eclectic curriculum" typically means drawing from various teaching philosophies and methods, aiming to personalize learning. While this sounds good in theory, in an online setting, it can lead to unique challenges. Here are the disadvantages of online school, especially one offering a mixed eclectic curriculum: I. General Disadvantages of Online School:  * Lack of Face-to-Face Interaction and Social Isolation:    * Reduced Engagement: Students miss out on spontaneous discussions, immediate feedback, and the dynamic energy of a physical classroom.    * Isolation: The absence of in-person interaction with peers and instructors can lead to feelings of loneliness, reduced motivation, and a diminished sense of community.    * Limited Social Skill Development: Opportunities for developing crucia...

Education system in Greece and Rome in ancient times: (In Urdu)-

History of MBBS: How the MBBS Became India’s Definitive Medical Degree

 - Ever wondered why Indian doctors are uniquely identified by the four-letter acronym MBBS? While most of the world uses MD or other titles, India’s medical degree has a fascinating history rooted in colonial identity, educational reform, and a drive for professional equality.  Here are eight key insights into how this unique degree shaped the landscape of Indian medicine. 1. The Birth of the Name "The 'MBBS' acronym is uniquely Indian in its modern dominance. While the world uses various titles for medical practitioners, it was Bombay University that officially inaugurated the MBBS degree in South Asia during a pivotal Senate meeting in December 1905." 2. The 1835 Milestone "Formal modern medical education in India began in 1835 with two landmark institutions: Medical College, Calcutta, and a medical school in Madras. These institutions marked the official shift toward standardized, allopathic medical training under British administration." 3. Before the M...

Challenges faced by school counsellors as per study undertaken in India (Part 1.12)--:

 - Counselling skills are seen as an important area in educational institutions. The education boards like CBSE mandates schools to appoint counsellor. The schools which have appointed counsellors in the school environment, the counsellor face few challenges, as school involves multiple stakeholders- Teachers, Children, Parents, Management, Civil society (Civil society- When school is involved with collaborative programs with external institutions). There are some kinds of stigma attached to counsellor and counselling practices. When counsellor calls children to meet, they become very conscious to go to the counsellor even to have general interaction. Some responded that if a child goes to a dedicated counsellor, the child might think he has negativity in him. A counsellor said that rapport building takes much time. Children are afraid because they have misinformation about counselling. Class 1st to 5th children know counsellor as a Lifeskills teacher and not as a counsellor. It he...

How does AI tools generate quick answers:

 - What is the main technology you use to make answers? (The above question is asked to Google's Gemini AI) Below is the answer:  The core technology I use to generate my answers is a Large Language Model (LLM). Here's a simplified breakdown of what that means and how it works: 1. The Foundation: A Massive Dataset An LLM is a type of artificial intelligence built on a massive dataset of text and code. This includes a huge portion of the internet, books, articles, and other public text. By analyzing this enormous amount of data, the model learns the statistical relationships between words, sentences, and concepts. It's not "memorizing" the information, but rather learning the patterns, grammar, and context of human language. 2. The Architecture: Neural Networks and Transformers The "engine" of a Large Language Model is a type of deep learning model called a neural network, specifically a Transformer model. This architecture is particularly good at process...
