8 preventive measures of anxiety for the young children:

- The anxiety is something internally related to the biological reactions that can be assumed through biological appearances. Moreover, it is a response to specific circumstances. The nature of the response of anxiety varies depending on the ages which are rational biological demands. It further means that our biological parts have a distinct nature of responses influenced by the circumstances we receive from nature and society. In fact, it is also caused by many factors such as stress in work, stress due to poor socio-economic conditions, stress due to health issues, stress due to relationship issues etc.

However, the factors that cause anxiety might not be the same for both adults and child. For example, a small kid might be scared of little insects that would lead to anxiety but an adult might not be scared of it and would not be a problem. This could be because of the reasons that a child did not have such experiences in life and also it is a tender socio-emotional development.

The impacts of anxiety are worst if we look at the facts of the child development and hence, it is so important for us to deal with preventive measures so that we can prevent the children from experiences of any critical circumstances.

1. Be a role model in terms of responding to the stressful situations:  The children are seen often adaptive to their respective parents and teachers either positive or negative. So, the parents and teachers who actually often close to children must be active in terms of handling and responding to the situations. The children would learn from the role model of parents and teachers, as well as from a few other activities related to the same skills.

2. Encourage self-control: Self-control is the capacity to override an impulse in order to respond appropriately. Most of the children who have to initiate themselves might feel the loneliness that would lead to a feeling of uncomfortable and anxiety. So, in such situations, it is recommended to boost up their confidence level by encouraging that they can do things in the most acceptable way.

3. Establishment of predictable routine for daily activities: It is observed that most of our family environment in terms of the daily routine is not comfortable as routines like daily activities are not organized. So, timely food, sporting, enjoying, studies etc are highly recommended where the children might feel more comfortable.

4. Appreciation to the competencies: The Appreciation can bring abundance into a child's life. As an adult, we should demonstrate thankfulness for all the things. This brings a positive atmosphere into relationships, be it a school, or home. The children must be appreciated at what they are assigned to do which would boost up their confidence. Children feel happy when they are appreciated, the appreciation should be real and not just to satisfy the situation.

5. Realistic expectations:  Children should be expected whatever they are capable of and realistic, assigned to the unrealistic task would bring uncomfortable mood in the child’s face and is the reason for anxiety.

6. Generate eagerness about something, or an exciting event: Despite boring classroom classes something outside school trips to be introduced to the children which would help children learn something new visually and feel happy.

7. Never share family issues: Sharing of family issues with children might harm them negatively as children do not have enough emotional control.

8. Teaching relaxation techniques: The scientifically proven relaxation techniques such as breathing exercise, few relaxation activities etc, to be taught to the children.

Seven key differences between Parenting in India and Dutch:

 - A Dutch mother, Ivana, recently shared her experiences living in Mumbai for nine years, highlighting seven key differences between parenting in India. She emphasises that neither approach is "better" or "worse," but rather they involve different trade-offs.  Key Differences in Parenting: According to her viral reflections on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWJv7RLDM-z/), the primary contrasts include: * Community vs. Solo Marathon: In the Netherlands, parenting often feels like a "solo marathon". In Mumbai, she experiences a "real village" where family, neighbours, and the building community are always available to help. * Independence vs. Interdependence: Dutch culture raises children to be "fierceley independent," such as cycling to school alone at age eight. Indian parenting focuses on interdependence and being part of a larger, supportive system. * Child-Friendly Public Spaces: She notes that children in India are acce...

REOPENING THE SCHOOL- SOME SUGGESTIONS (Suggestions via- IIEP_UNESCO):

- The COVID19 pandemic has led to another crisis of reasonable ideas in order to resolve all sorts of emerging issues in front. Educational plannings in times of crisis seem to be another challenge because of the judgmental dilemma about the importance of education as well as health.  However, focusing on balancing the importance of both the aspects- education and health is focal. What and how implementable plannings could be done is the big question to be responded by most of the concerned authorities and stakeholders. Currently, school founders, principals, administrators and concerned heads are considering many ways to win this situation.  There are very key areas which the school leaders should consider- Finance, Infrastructure and Human resources. Here we are discussing some ideas and suggestions that have been addressed regarding the reopening of the schools (Please refer the full resource from UNESCO at the end of this article).  Image source: ChristopherSalem 1. # Beyond the Answer Key: Teaching Children *How* to Think

 - Nurturing Thinkers, Not Memorizers:  A Guide for Educators Think back to the last time a child asked you a "Why" question. Why is the sky blue? Why do birds fly? Why do we have to sleep? Young children can ask dozens of questions an hour. It is their way of mapping out a massive, unfamiliar world. As parents and educators, our natural instinct is to give them an immediate answer. We want to be helpful, and we want to share our knowledge. But when we provide the answer right away, we accidentally turn off their mental engine. ### What to Think vs. How to Think When we give an instant answer, the child learns *what* to think. They receive a static fact to memorize. But when we pause and invite them into the discovery process, they learn *how* to think. They learn to evaluate clues, connect dots, and build logic. The magic isn't in the destination (the answer); the magic is in the journey (the thinking). ### The Four-Word Shift The next time a child brings you a curious q...

School Operations Manual:

- A school is a complex organization where multiple activities should co-ordinate in sync. Each stake holder - Management, Teacher, Students, Parents and supportive staff, everyone has an important role to play. All these stake holders need to know their job, roles and responsibilities, and also the structure, policy and procedure of their work. Thus a team has come up with a 'school operations manual' to support schools in designing their school policies and procedures, which will help to strengthen the school system.  This manual outlines the significant policies and procedures covering a wide spectrum of activities in a school, starting from affiliation, curriculum planning, extra-curricular activities, value education, school administration, statutory compliances, HR, etc.  The core objective of this manual is to communicate, describe and help in implementing the best practices, policies and procedures so as to bring standardisation in our schools through collaboration.
